This one day course is intended to porvide child carers with the basic skills to deal with accidents and emergencies that may occur involving children of different ages, using scenarios that you would be likely to find in a home and play environment. On successful completion of this course delegates will receive a First Aid and Emergency Skills for Child Carers Certificate, valid for three years.
Course Content
The course will cover a range of subjects which include:
- Dangers for different age groups in a variety of environments
- How and why accidents occur
- Accident prevention and safety
- Management of an unconscious child
- Resuscitation
- Control of bleeding
- Burns and scalds
- Fractures
